There isnt much of anything happening here yet.  The bucks have gone nocturnal and making it more difficult to find them. Things usually dont get started here til late January anyway, at least our season runs through February so that we can take advantage of the rut.

Funny, one of our members killed a 2 1/2 year old 4-point (6 with no brow tines) the other night, and his tarsals were already black, wet and stinky. Never seen that before in October here in Pensacola.

That is strange this early.   I have watched it for years to be late January but I think something weird is going on.  I have deer chasing already in Arkansas where I hunt and I do have some trail cam pics of bucks doing some peculiar things to does quite early here in NW Florida.    Who knows what is happening so early to get the hormones hopping.
