still havent seen the rut activity you usually see at this time.....rut maybe late but may run into the rifle season for a change...saw 2 does in the woods without bucks...one was a big adult doe and their are bucks in the area....behind the house came across the doe and button buck fawn, that I have pics on my trailcam, still walking around.....usually the button buck would have been run off and momma would have a bigger boy around...not yet.....I'll keep it posted

The warm spell in the beginning of last week (Mon, Tues, & Wed) seemed to shut things down but the cooling temps picked up rutting activity Thur.  Saw 4 bucks Thursday morning and even called one in with the can but no shots - Passed on three, two were smaller bucks, one would have been an 8 pt but one whole side of his rack was broken off.  The decent size 6 or 8 Pt I called in with the can busted me before he made it into range.
Things should be heating up really good now if the weather would cool off again! Good luck all!

took a ride thru herkimer, otsego, oneida counties southern tier and saw a few deer one decent buck but i still see no frantic rut yet....tomorrow if it quits pouring, I'll be in the woods checking.....I'll post if I see any difference

has to be going on in some form !  @--0--0101
