I know I'm not home yet, but have been talkin to JKLB he's seen a couple smaller bucks and a friend of ours saw a good 8 a few days ago and a small 8 yesterday. That being said I can't help but to think the rut is still a few weeks off

I'll be in the Conecuh Co. woods the next 3 out of 4 weekends so I should be able to get a feel for how the rut is progressing there, I'll be sure to report back what I observe!

I was just as excited for your brother as you were. I'm glad he shot first and took pictures later. It's a nice buck

Well seems the warm weather put a damper on deer movement this weekend. Anthony and I sat all day Saturday and half a day on Sunday and didn't see anything. My trail camera pics show yearlings and Does visiting the food plots during daytime hours but not a single mature Buck pic taken during the daytime. Lots of Mature Buck pics at night time though....I hope this cold front coming through today cools things down like they are forecasting, maybe this weekend will be better.

Possum congrats to your brother, that's awesome!

Killed a big 6 pt. yesterday running the trails searching for his does!   Did not have any doe in heat scent out.   The buck  smelled  like he was in full rut!

I'm leaving in about 90 minutes to head North with the low tonight forecast to be in the mid 20's, looks like a great weekend for hunting! I've yet to see any deer during daylight hours. I sure hope this changes this weekend, plan to be in the woods until mid day on Monday. I'll report back what I do or don't see!

Took the weekend off to spend time w/ my now fiancée so didn't hunt. But talked to a buddy of mine who did, he said where he hunts up in Gantt, they saw bucks chasing and piles of new scrapes being laid and worked. I'll b hunting the restvof season daylight till dark so my fingers are crossed

The 10 PT I took Sunday Morning in Coosa County Alabama was trailing two Does I started to pop the bigger Doe for freezer meat  but I held up and she quickly grazed off into the thicket. The smaller Doe grazed almost up to the Box Blind I was in then ran off the field as the big boy caught my eye stepping in the same tracks the big Doe took. Raised my Rifle counted 1-2-3-4 points on one side Bang. 6 of the 7 Bucks taken on my Lease last week 8 Point or better Bucks where trailing Does not chasing but trailing..

Monday evening around 4:45 PM my Buddy text me and told me that 3 Does came out on FP #3 I told him unless he still needed the Meat hold up Mr. Big was near by.
Sure enough the Does ran and out stepped the 10 Pointer I have been watching on Trail cam for over 4 Months... Bang he down.
Buddy is still thanking me...  The Bucks are still trailing the Does in Central Alabama but not chasing as best I can tell... Cooler weather for the next couple days should help
but warmer rain weather by this weekend to mess things up (again).
