Friday Dec 30th

Got in the stand around 0630 it was 28 degrees with a heavy frost no wind. Saw no deer but did see a flock of turkeys that had about 15 birds in it. Two were jakes. Hunted til 11:30 with no luck.

Hunted in the pines about 100 yards below the L plot in the evening. Nothing moving but it was beautiful just being out there. Deer are really hitting our food plots this time of year.

Saturday Dec 31st

The weather warmed up a good bit from Friday. Hit the stand at 0645 it was 44 degrees with a light WSW wind. At o750 saw two small doe at about 60 yards. The freezer is full so I passed on the opportunity.

My last hunt of the year was in the afternoon got out about 30 minutes early and went back to camp to get started on dinner for everyone. We had a huge steak dinner to wrap up the season. We had seven guys in camp New Year's eve night. Life is always good at deer camp!

New Year's day Jan 1, 2012 season ends.....

Got up about 7am as no one hunted Sunday morning. We had coffee and some breakfest and packed up for the year.

As always it was an excellent season. My son and I both harvested animals during the season. Our members had a great year. We harvested 8 bucks and 4 does. All of our bucks are required to have at least 4 points on one side. Looking forward to turkey season!!!
