I am assuming he is waiting for for EMT's to come so he decides to take a picture? Just seems odd but if true, that has got to hurt! That's gonna leave a mark!

The story we heard at work was it happened at bass pro and the guy was trying out a bow and picked up an arrow that was too short, drew it back and shot as it fell off the rest, and as far as I know had to take the bow to the hospital with him.

Photoshop. I don't think an injury like that the victim would want to be holding a bow casually like that

He can't take his hand off the bow because the arrow is stuck in hand and fingers.  I don't think it is a photoshop and probably happened exactly as said with too short of an arrow.  That has got to be painful but I would be one to take a picture so that everyone would learn from my mistake.

I saw that a few weeks ago on another forum and said what I will say here- photoshop. That would be going through bone in that area. I just don't see it. Of course, I have been mistaken before.  %^$^

 What is this...I don't even...

Going to be a long road to recovery for that. I second what another poster said, he might have some long term damage with that.

At the risk of replying on myself...

I just had a dream about this last night! I didn't even remember it until I saw this thread again just now.

I was out back practicing and pulled back on one of my arrows only to have it nearly slip out of my rest because it was much shorter than I thought! I managed to slowly ease it back down without skewering myself. I was confused because these were all arrows I had shot with previously with no issues. I tried a different arrow (still the same brand) and it did it again!

I wanted to keep practicing, but I couldn't figure out how my old arrows were suddenly too short for my bow. Instead of risking an arrow going through my hand I put my bow away.

I woke up shortly after this, with a vaguely uneasy feeling, but couldn't remember why.

I guess I don't doubt that this actually happened....but was just wondering......where is the blood? Seems like there would be some blood.....even if they wiped his wound I wouldn't think that they could clean that well.
