Season's Over!
« on: May 23, 2011, 03:54:32 PM »
Today is the last day in Maryland. I think they are done gobbling, at least around here. Went out Saturday for 6 hours and not a gobble, same today so I decided to call it a season. We can hunt all day in the later part of the season here. Didn't get a turkey this year (still trying for my first!) but had a lot of fun. Had a number of encounters and tried to out fox them but their pea sized brain outsmarted me again this year! Learned  lot this year and will be back in the Spring! We have a fall season but I'm usually out with the bow for deer!

I was out smarted every time I went out this year ...
But I am like you I am not downhearted about it at all I enjoyed ever minute of it.
I just got to learn how to call them to come over to my side of the Creek a little better...

As long as you had a good time, BC, it was a successful season.  You'll get 'em next season!!  Who knows, might get a shot at one with your bow during deer season!!  I've had that happen before!!

Sorry about your luck, but a day in the woods is better than work any day.
