Close hen!
« on: May 06, 2011, 03:50:05 PM »
I was out today hunting for Tom but never heard a gobble today. At 10:45AM I am deciding whether to leave when I hear leaves cracking behind me and hear this suft cluck, cluck. I look out the corner of my eye and here is this hen walking not more than 6 feet from me. I looked hard for a beard but none to be found. She walked around for awhile and then I could still see her on the side of the hill to my right and then I heard another turkey scratching around in the brush but couldn't see it. I waited until I didn't hear any scratching and then called but no luck. If that was a gobbler, he already had his woman! Pretty cool being that close! Good morning in the woods!
