New Pup Training on Birds 3/20
« on: March 22, 2011, 03:16:19 PM »
So last year, I lost Casey who I was lucky to have for 16 years. She was a wonderful hunting dog and companion. To tell the truth, I was devastated. Could not look at another dog, and couldn’t discuss her passing without difficulty. So was not even thinking about getting another. 11 months go by, and my wife sends me an email…..she misses her day companion and is wondering if we could think about getting another dog. My first reaction was no….but it kept coming back to me.

Well not to drag this out….we got a new pup in January! Nobelles C Scout. Here are a couple pics from this past week’s training on birds.  He is 17 weeks old.  I am having such a good time watching him learn......or rather me relearn.

Good hunting.
Jim

Great looking Pup you got their.
It's hard to get another one after being so close to the one you had.
I have a lab and he is officially retired from the hunt, his hips are going out. I just recently got a terror though  @--0--0105 A weimaramer
He is gonna be a doozie to train.

Congrats on new beginnings...great looking dog!!!

Wanted another GSP that looked nothing like Casey....found this all liver little guy...fit the bill perfectly!  If I could not have found a liver GSP with good lines, would have probably picked another breed.

Congrats on the new pup--he looks like he really enjoys what he is doing.  Took me 4 years to replace my lab when I lost my first girl.
