New guy from VA
« on: October 04, 2008, 07:24:05 PM »
Well, the directions were to introduce myself and then post some a pic.  So here I am with the very elusive and rare Eastern Antelope.  Now it may look like a yearling Whitetail spike, but no, it is definitely an antelope (my hunting buddies didn't buy that either).

Look forward to shooting the breeze (and the whitetails) with ya'll.

thanks for sharing the pic of the rare eastern antelope - i actually saw a smaller one than that friday - but he had a nice 8 point whitetail walking with him and he had a lot smaller body than the 8 point so i decided to take the shot at the whitetail - if i would have known it was an eastern antelope i probably would have harvested him -  ;D

@--0--0134 Newt, glad that you could join us. Nice Eastern Antelope  @--0--0137. I have yet to harvest any of those. I have harvested a few whitetails over the years that looked very similar.  @--0--0127 We look forward to hearing some stories and sharing some ideas. Feel free to jump right in and tell your friends how much you love it.

Funny thing is that once you put that antelope on the grill it is so similar to the whitetail no one can tell the difference. You can also pick you teeth with the spikes and not worry about putting out you eye with all those other points.....Great job and welcome aboard  -0078

I got a chuckle over the antelope thing.  I liked it.  Welcome aboard and enjoy the site.  Invite your friends and we will try to sell them on a rare eastern antelope story.
