I was hunting with a friend of mine and his wife. She was using a single shot 20 gauge. My buddy decided to put a drive on for us so I let his wife use my 1100 scoped shotgun and she was to shoot whatever came out first. As we waited looking down the hill I turn around to see a buck sneaking across a overgrown field. At this point all I seen was that it had horns. I turn her around and at approx. 50 yards I stopped the buck with a yell. She shot and missed and the buck turned and ran straight away from us. I grabbed her 20 gauge from the fence post it was leaning against and shot knocking him down. At the time I still didn't know how big he really was just that it was a buck. The buck got back up and ran down the other side of the hill out of site. I reloaded the 1100 for her so she had 3 rounds and all of sudden the buck was running straight back at us. He stopped 30 yards in front of us but she couldn't get on it and it ran down into the brush out of site again. We started tracking and in 50 yards there he laid, wow I couldn't believe it. I haven't had it scored yet but am planning on it real soon.

Very nice buck and great story to go along with it. That is what makes a hunt is the story that you can tell whether you  killed an animal or didn't. I would say thats the fun part.
