My old 12 ga shoots the Winchester Supreme Turkey load. 3", #6. I patterned it agains a couple others and it was equal to the hevi-shot, but a lot cheaper. I have 2 in college.

I SHOOT WINCHESTER DOUBLE XX 3 1/2" #5 12 GA, 2 1/4OZ SHOT.  SINCE MY SON NOW COMES ALONG WE HAVE BEEN USING A 3" 20 GA WITH WINCHESTER DOUBLE XX IN #5 HE'S KILLED THREE BIRDS WITH THREE SHOTS, ALL AT 25 YDS, GET THEM IN CLOSE AND YOU DONT NEED TO MUCH GUN.  I THINK THE LITTLE 20GA IS A NICE GUN MOSSBERG 500 BANTAM YOUTH, COMPACT LIGHT AND NO KICK, I PUT A HS STRUT TURKEY TUBE IN IT, PATTERNS WELL OUT TO 35 YDS, BUT WE SET UP FOR 25 YDS SHOTS WHEN WE CAN, WE STAY OFF THE FIELDS AND MOVE BACK INTO THE WOODS

The best combination I've found out of my 12 Gauge has been A Primos Tight Wad choke tube using a Winchester Super-X, 3"  1 7/8 oz copper plated #5's

I've patterned it out to 40 yards.

Although I'm thinking my preferred load this year may be a 500 grain arrow with a really sharp broadhead.  ;-D

My ABSOLUTE favorite turkey load is when I load them into the truck!  @--0--0123

But I use a 2 3/4" turkey "magnum" load from Winchester with #5s and my poly choke on extra-full.

Quite a mixed bag...  The right ammo is the one that allows you to "load" the bird into the vehicle!  I am more curious about the Hevi-Shot?  Been hearing quite a bit about them.  In Texas they use the Dead Coyote...  Not legal in Missouri, but I think I am going to give Hevi-Shot a "shot" this season.  But with some pattern work first
