tom "bonk" vocalization

anybody know how to make a tom "bonk" sound?  read about it in turkey hunting and never heard it.  any calls like trumpets etc. make it?

I have heard the toms give a very deep, throaty cluck. This may be similar to what you are describing. I didnt know what it was when I first heard it.

The best I can remember that is the closest vocalization to a bonk.

Would the article you read have been talking about the sound a longbeard makes when he is spitting and drumming? I would describe that as a Pffttt sound though.

this article was in turkey hunting mag and a fellow from penn. used it to call in toms during the fall.  i think he used a trumpet call which you would get the volume from and it may be that deep cluck your speaking about .  had good luck with the kee kee call and assembly yelps in the fall and may just try a "bonk" with my voice and see what happens.
