Owl
« on: September 28, 2010, 12:22:18 PM »
Went to hang some new stands at the deer lease yesterday and while we wre walking along we bumped into this guy. My guess is that he is hurt since it never tried to fly away, he just sat on this log while we walked past him a few times. There was a big ole half eaten rat sitting where we jumped him so at least he was eating. Don't know if he will make it that long but it was cool to see!

Pretty neat to walk up on something like that. My son would have figured out a way to catch it and bring it home to me,because he says I can fix anything with animals. @--0--0127 He brings home some real dandies and I never can figure out how he gets them without getting hurt.

Knowing my luck the owl would have done a number on me before I could catch it. Then of course I would end up getting stopped for speeding and the officer would see a great horned owl in the back of the truck and that would have not been such a great conversation to have. So the owl was left on it's log.

What a beautiful bird.  Hope that the owl makes it but if his wing is broken his chances are slim at this time of year. Nice pictures.

Great Picture.  Owls are a funny lot.----WV I used to catch all kinds of animals when I was young but I was the one who fixed them up and turned them loose--baby rabbits, squirrels, etc.....Drove my folks nuts....  That is how I used to get the game commission drop off fawns now and again for me to raise.
