i've seen a couple. it's pretty wild. one buck was killed due to a punture wound in the throat/neck. i also found a young dead buck in the same area that was gored in the chest and died. the dominant buck didn't take any flack.

I have seen a full blown fight to the death on the King Ranch in Texas the loser was pretty badly messed up and both fighters broke a lot of antlers.

Other than a couple of does going at it, never seen two bucks sparring for real.  Play sparring does not count.

I have seen a couple of young buck sparring a few times.  I even saw a couple of button buck head butting a couple of years ago.  I have heard a real full blown fight but could not slip up on it fast enough to be a witness.

I only caught a 1/2 dozen sparring matches in the wild but never seen a death fight, Heard one once a Hundred or so yards away but thick brush keep me from seeing it I though it was a friend play a joke on me.. Climbed down walked around to the area of the fight leaves on the ground where all messed up and I spotted blood and tried to trail it but darkness got me and it rained overnight and washed away the blood trail... Never found the Deer but found a 13" broken tine.

I have heard a fight close by but the woods were too thick.  I could not see the action.
