New York Licenses are on Sale!
« on: August 17, 2010, 07:11:41 PM »
Just thought I would alert all my New York friends and all out of state NY hunters that our licenses are now on sale. Because our doe permits are on a lottery basis, getting in early does not hurt. NY does it a bit different than other states. If you want to apply for up to two antlerless permits, you advise the licensing agent (at the time of purchase) which Deer Management Units you want to apply for and the computer instantly tells you if you were successful or not. It costs an additional ten bucks to apply for up to two permits. I am pretty sure (but not 100% positive) that  if you do not draw a doe permit, you don't get the ten bucks back. Anyway, I bought the resident Super Sportsman that includes fishing, small game hunting, big game hunting, archery and muzzle loading permits, turkey stamps (2 each for both Fall and Spring) and my two doe permits and the cost was $98. You also receive a bear tag and your regular season firearm deer permits. If you guys want to secure one or two doe permits, I would suggest you get there as soon as you can to increase your odds.javascript:void(0);
