The old waiting game of patience paid off big time. Most can't hang in there that long. Give yourself a pat on the back. That's a bragging size turkey to be proud of.

Thanks guys...well I have to admit 50/50 skill and luck!...See I was in my PJ's having coffee..came to PC room to turn on computer and I heard a faint gobble behind the house down on new land...threw on camo...loafers..grabbed ..yes Mossberg 20ga...gun and shells running out the door...got to an old brush blind that you only have a front view out of with out a seat...Well no seat or calls...so I did a series is yelps cuts and clucks with my voice...A bit later I saw a bird 60yrds out...thought it was him until a gobble 5yrds away sent shock waves through me...he was strutting to my right...where the shot was obstructed by the blind wall...Through the brush I watched him strut back and forth getting closer while he spit and drummed for a half hour...he would not move left in front of me...so when I lost sight of him...I made my move and swung my gun over my right shoulder...I knew if he kept coming he'd give me a shot ...when I saw blue I shot...yep notice there is no view of his head...3ft and a full choke=skin...and not much of that either ##$%#12...what a fun time :D

Congrats on a great bird!  Believe it or not, when I'm home, I'm constantly looking out the window, hoping a longbeard will show up out back, 'cause I was planning on doing the same thing, should the opportunity arise.  I did see a hen a couple of days ago, and watched her for about 15 minutes.
