This hunt was short and sweet. (it's always nice to get one of those! ##$%#14) We always move our feeders to thickets for the fall and winter for deer hunting. Then in the spring we will go by and pick them up in early march and move them to our food plots. They are an great place to take turkey pictures and see what is running around in that area. We put a feeder in a two acre standing soybean plot and it couldn't have worked better. The turkeys started roosting on the oak ridge about 100 yards from there and it is simple to sneak into in the morning. I checked this roost the night before and they were gobbling before a hit the call. The next morning a hunter with us went in and set up right off of the food plot. The turks flew down on the ridge and gobbled all the way to the plot and then stopped. He picked up his box call and hit it a little to loud and a tom and 2 hens ran off.  Then he looked back over his shoulder and this one was strutting around the decoy. He snuck his way in, but didn't make it out! ##$%#113

Congrats on the nice bird, it's always noce to get in one of the easy hunts like that. I'm still working hard at it here. I got 2 more days to get it done.

I would be thrilled to have an easy hunt.  So far, all I have is one bird come in, take a look at the decoys and decided he didn't want to be part of a threesome.  Hung up at 75 yds away.
