Well the VA Spring Turkey season is over
« on: May 18, 2010, 06:15:33 PM »
Score Turkeys 3 hunters 0!

Despite still not being cleared to drive by my doctors I managed a final hunting trip on the last sat of turkey season. No birds answered any of my calls although we did come across 1 gobbler, unfortunately none of the shots connected. This year was a bit of a tough year as the land next to us, had turkey hunters this year adding pressure on the birds that wasnt there in years past. It was still a successful season as my daughter got hooked on hunting turkeys even though she never got to see one, and Blackadder is now a diehard addict to turkey hunting after having a great first season. He didn't get a shot but did get a good look at a pair of toms that hung up on us just out of range!  @--0--0117 Hopefully next year he'll be able to call one in on his own and hopefully next year some birds will be taken! Even stll a great year with 2 new gobbleheads hooked!

It's not always about the kill when it comes to getting the little ones involved. Glad to see that you were able to get out even for just a short while. Take care.
