My season is done....
« on: May 14, 2010, 08:04:38 AM »
Well, my turkey season has come and gone.  No bird is in the freezer, no bird ready to sit next to a serving of corn bread and stuffing….  It’s called hunting for a reason, that’s for sure.  However, every time out is an exciting adventure... I wrote a quick journal and you can read the rest of it at  http://upnorthjournalprostaffkevin.blogspot.com/

Well there is always next year and hopefully your daughter will get one.  I have yet to be ou.  I was planning on taking my son out last Saturday but mother nature had other plans with high winds and rain.  So that plans are to take him out tomorrow.  It looks like the weather is going to be nice for it.  After that I don't know when we will get back out becuase the following weekend I just found out I have to work both Saturday and Sunday.  I hope that I can get out for a bit over Memorial day weekend but we will have to wait and see.

The one thing I don't like about Turkey season is that it's only 7 days long for the draw(5/3 - 5/9).  Camogirl has the last draw which runs from last Monday through the end of the month.

It just isn't easy and some times the luck is not there.  I find it is an 'every other year' situation.  Last year I had a tough time, and this years things went well.  You will get them next year!

Tough season. I think everyone's weather has the birds all confused. Hope camogirl can get after one. Good Luck.

Sounds like you had a great season none the less. I'm right with you about it just being an exciting adventure without getting a bird. So far I've had a blast. Even if I don't get a bird it wouldn't even matter. All the close encounters I've had with deer and turkeys has been unforgetable and will remain an exciting memory forever.
