What makes TalkHunting so great? What is it that drew you to this site and kept you here? What makes this place any different than all of the other hunting websites out there?

I also saw a Talk Hunting advertisement in the Whitetail Institute Magazine, and thought I would give it a look.   Signed up but never got back on, several months later I remembered the site, and logged on.  Since that time, I have stayed on as much as possible.  It is a great site with great information, and a bunch of great folks.  I am sort of a loner and I don't go anywhere unless I have to.  But, I felt comfortable enough because of the site to travel 6 hrs.  to the Anniversary Party in Alabama, and be around 30 or so people I have never laid eyes on before.  I had an awesome time meeting other members, and can't wait to meet others.  @--0--0118

Like the post said above me. Friends. Can't say enough about Talk Hunting. If you would have told me a year ago where my travels would have taken me I would have laughed at you. Dreams can be reality if you put your Best into it. I have met some Great People along the way and some have became Great Friends. I Know we have our members that are slow to open up and live the Full Extent of What Talk Hunting is all about. It is a place people interact everyday and learn about each others hunting and about their everyday ups and down. Not a stone unturned here. You don't have that on other sites. I was asked a long time ago to do a job for Talk Hunting from a man I had Never Met in person and I accepted it with open arms because I Believe in the Members of this site. Members make a site and you all have done GREAT. I am Proud to Be a Part of this site. That being said I will get off of my soap box because you know I could Ramble on this subject forever.

westernKYhunter,Hope you are up to another interesting year, because who knows where our travels will take us this year. I have traveled a lot of miles this year with my co pilot. It's Amazing how a Deer Contest that causes so many questions and disagreements can produce a friendship that will last a lifetime.Sometimes you have to look in between the lines and look at the Total Picture. I am Glad I found Talk Hunting and Proud to be a part of Talk Hunting. I Hope to See You All down the road somewhere.

I also saw the link on the Whitetail Institute of America website.  I used to be a member of another site but never got involved because of the "drama".  I like this site.  At the time there were not very many members.  Just a couple hundred or so, Maybe.  I've had some good conversations, learned some things, been able to teach some things, I attended gatherings and functions, met some great people.  One thing that makes this site stand above the others, to me, is that the leadership believe in a great vision for this site.  It's not a money making venture.  All the work is volunteer for now.  These people put in hours because they care about hunters.  They care about us.  I too believe in this site, this club, and a greater vision.  I for-see a long future for us and TH.  I hope to be able to help the vision along.

I got an email from Ray Scott and WTI a good while back.  I checked it out and well, as others have said--the rest is history.  I had checked out other sites, most were not interested if i thought anything because, well, i am a woman.  The ladies hunting sites i looked at seemed to want to dish the men in their lives.  Here I am just family, a fellow hunter who likes the outdoors.  No One cares that I did not kill a record buck, prize turkey or anything else.  We all enjoy the outdoors for everything it has to offer.

I was surfing the net looking for some information on hunting and came across TH. I got to talking with WesternKyHunter back in Sep of 2008 about hog hunting which I had never done before and he invited to his property in Jan of 2009 to hunt some of the hogs there, I went and met a gang of TH members to include WV, Radar, WesternKYhunter and several others, the rest is history, I talked with many others after that and started writing for the Camp Fire News, then joined a host of TH members at the Northern Anniversary Party in Holly MI made more friends who all like the great outdoors and having fun. Last month I was asked to help out on the site as a moderator, and how could I say no. This is by far the friendliest family oriented site I have ever experienced, so I figured I would do my part to help keep it that way. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.  ##$%#115 HM for your vision and dedication.

I was a member on another board and I still am. I just happen to find this site by a search. Started to hang around and read some post. I liked what I saw and then joined. What kept me here is all the friendliness of the members, no back stabbing if you know what I mean. Then I got to posting and got to know some members. It was amazing to find so many Christian hunters on one site. I read some post about members going to hog hunts and deer hunts, and all the fun they had. I made the Eastern Anniversary Party and had a blast. I got to meet HM, PJ BD, BP, Zos and Hunting Grandma, Mac, Hyper and camogirl. My wife could not believe that I wanted to meet people I have never met before. We had a blast and a good time. Now this year we are heading to Kentucky for the May get together to meet more members. HM and all the mods do a great job plus where else can you win prizes on a monthly basis with our great sponsors. We have the best membership of any board, everyone supports one another, and are willing to lend a hand to a member even though they have never met. So God Bless this site and all it's member's....

Saw an ad in WTI and checked out the site.  I love this site because the posts are from hunters just like me - not pro hunters trying to sell you something - just regular hunters exchanging ideas and fun.  And everyone I have met is down to earth - I do not feel out of place here.

I too was brought in by a WTI e-mail.  Right from the beginning, I knew this sight was better than others.  Yes the people are great, we have generous sponsors, and I have learned alot.  BUT, the number one thing that makes this site so great for me is...

the fact that you can feel free to ask anything or offer an opinion and not get ridiculed.  Some topics covered have two or more obvious sides, with no real arguing or belittling.  The wealth of knowledge we have on this site is unmatched, but no one person feels they are the only one who is right.

Thanks for the great site!

I found Talkhunting by web surfing and what keeps me here is all the friendly like minded people that I have met. Everyone is always helpful and the stories you read about from different parts of the country are awesome. The site is packed with helpful information to better yourself not only as a hunter but as a person.  ##$%#115 TH!!!!

The diverse membership is a big plus!  Main reason would be the opportunity to exchange ideas and tactics to take game animals any legal means available.  Almost any topic on here can be discussed and some excellent advice can be gleamed from it.  A vast amount of knowledge and experience on any topic involving hunting can be found on this site.  I would bet the years of experience of all the members would be amazing , as many of us have been hunting squirrels or other small game before we were 10 years old.   ##$%#11
