Here, in Central MS, it is still going on.  Been hunting my imperial clover fields mid-day and evenings and seeing bucks.  I set a trail cam up and got pics of the bucks slipping through now in the mornings on those plots.

Hey Bubba, It's been slim picking over by me in South Central Miss. The rut has been on for a couple of weeks. All the deer ahve been moving at night. I've been the woods at least 3 days a week and haven't seen a decent shooter yet. I thought all that cold weather we had would've got them up and moving. I talked to a friend of mine that has a few 100 acres about 15 miles west of McComb and they have shot a couple of nice bucks in the last 2 weeks. I'm heading there this weekend and see if I can't see something moving. I'll let you know what happens. Hope you are feeling better.

Well, there is one more weekend left of the season and most of the guys in our club have lost interest in hunting. Chipper and I hunted this weekend and we got the big goose egg, didn't even see anything on stand, but going back to the camp after the Saturday morning hunt, we saw two young bucks chasing a doe. We were encouraged a bit, since we have one more chance. I'll probably be by myself next weekend to close it out, then get on to home projects and getting ready for next season. I've got some great ideas for new stand materials that I want to try.

Not any better here in Alabama.... Got run out of the Box Stand today after Monsum Rain causing Flash Floods... High Winds 30-45 MPH made me glad I had anchored The Shooting House down before Gun season.
Can't wait to see what New Stand ideals you come up with this year Bubba

Hey Bubba, I just read your reply to me about last weekend. I decided to hunt my own place instead of heading to my friends. I just had a feeling they were going to be chasing the does. Man was I wrong. Didn't see anything. This was the worst season that I can remember. I shot one just barely legal buck the Monday after Christmas and that is it. Heading out for the last few days of the season. Good luck to you.

I'll be headed out Friday too, looking to take something brown! We saw two young bucks chasing a doe last weekend, so I think the secondary rut is on. We also have to deal with a full moon this weekend, so hunting late may be the strategy required. Good luck to you Jay!
