48 yards -- on a turkey-- using a Mossberg 695 bolt action with a Rhino choke and 3in Nitros with 5 shot 6 shot and 7.5 shot in it. -0078                @--0--0109

That was 41 years ago... I don't know if you can in Alabama any more...

In KY also....

Rifles are still legal in the fall turkey but not spring gobbler.  That was 10 years or so ago.  Shotgun or bow is what I do anymore although I don't discourage anyone who would rather use a rifle.  In some areas turkey can get way out of control in short time.

About 55 yards using a Remington super mag with Gobblin Thunder choke with Winchester Supreme 3 1/2 inch #5 shot. Not the type of shot I want to take but got busted by a hen and had to take the shot. Was one of those it's now or never. I perfer 40 yards or closer.

Man, if you could use a rifle during turkey season now there wouldn't be many unfilled tags!  Of course, I wouldn't want to be waking around the woods in the spring if that were the case!  --099-780

in tight is what i want. my longest was 45 yards 3.5" supreme # 4 out of a Winchester SX2 but try to pattern your gun and get ol' tommy as close as you can

I only have one and it was about 30 yards using a Remington 11-87, 3" magnum and #5 shot.
Teach your children to hunt and fish and you won't have to hunt and fish for your teenagers.

  50 yards ,as he was turning tae and leaving  ,i used a mossberg 500 in 12 ga /w 3" hevi-shot shells #5's
