Awww. when you're trying to stop that big rhino from stomping your face in the mud, you wouldn't even notice the recoil.   --099-780

acrually it is recomended that this weapon be lead sled mounted.a 06 has 18 ft pounds of recoil, this weapon shoots a 3600 gr pill, thats one half pound, the bore is nearly one in diameter.what UI cant understand is it made it a rifle, and as far as I know only about a dozen have ever been made.

I did a little research and apparently SSK got a variance from the 1934 Destructive weapons Act ( or something like that) to manufacture a rifle with such a large bore.  The price of the rifle is about 8k, rounds are about 40 dollars each.  Far too rich for my blood.

Yes, that is surprising.  Maybe the feds figured not too many people could afford to buy one of these rifles, let alone finding someone who would be willing to risk a couple of slipped disks to shoot one of them.

I guess if mature bucks ever start using heavy armor this would be a useful weapon.

It will save you money and lots of work.  You hit a deer with one of those, the round will gut, skin, and grind your buck in one step.  You'll have to have your buddy pick up the ground venison, 'cause you'll be on your way to the hospital with a neck brace, and possible concussion, loose fillings and detached retinas.  You have medical insurance, right? --099-780
