I own several different cal hand guns, I like all of them.  The .357 is the best all around cal in my opinion, home defense and you can hunt with it too.

I'm also a 357 bug. Mine is a S&W 686 in stainless with a 8 3/8" barrel and a camo multi reticle reflex sight. With the new Leverevolution ammo from hornady I can pile up the bulls eye at 50 yards. Get alot of satisfaction and accuracy for the cheap when I have the time to reload for it.
Stalkin stuff for 30 years.

When your boats leakin, your Danner boots are fillin and you caint bail fast enough, Just look for me, I'll be the one pointin and laughin!

The S&W 686 with the 8 3/8 in barrel is what I am holding in my avatar picture here on TH. That was the first hand gun I bought when I turned 21 years old. I still have that shooter and I will never get rid of it.

I picked Other, only because the .38 Special wasn't listed, I love plinking with it and reloading. I carry the Rossi in with a 4" barrel, 5 shot double action.

I picked the 357 because it is a proven stopper and utterly dependable. It's downfall is that, it is not offered in the semi-autos that everyone must carry these days. There is the 357 Sig but, it's just not the same.

For hunting with a handgun, the 44 mag. is my first choice unless we are going for something big or dangerous or want to shoot through engine blocks then, the 454 Casull.

For semi autos you have only two choices that I am aware of. the dessert Eagle and the Coonan arms. This video is of the Coonan Arms. I have never fired this one, but I did see one and liked it. I just was not willing to pay the price at the time. I still wouldn't.
