This looks like it was taken with a night vision scope.  Just as a reminder for the contest the deer has to be harvested by legal means in your state.  With that said, when I get a deer deprivation (I think that is the word I want) permit it allows me to harvest deer 24/7 and I am legal.  I can shine a light in their eyes and it is OK and legal.  Not that I would do this for the contest but it does meet the criteria of legal means in my state. Do you have any of those deprivation permits in your pockets???

Only kidding as I know you would be trying to take video of the hunt as well but it does raise a question.

They look like fine deer to me. Good luck.

you definitely have a mother lode of large bucks, wish my state was smarter and allowed them to grow without such a long season.  very nice buck frank.

Well just so YOU can be aware it was taken with a canon Gl2 camera at dusk.  The video was lightened up so it would be easier for everyone to see.  As for shooting deer at night if that is what you consider hunting and would enter a deer into a HUNTING contest that was shot  at night with a light how is that hunting but to each his own!

That is a beautiful buck.  He looks very symetrical.  Surely a booner.

Hey Fellis, since TH is about sharing info and trying to help each other, I got a tip for ya.  Sportsman's Guide has a really good deal on a Gerber saw/pruner kit....  --099-780

Fellis, The question was, it was legal.  It has nothing to do with ethics or character it was reading the rules states it was a legally taken deer.  If I have a permit for protecting crop damage and it is legal and signed off by the state that this is what you can do. Could you enter it into the contest. It was brought up to show a point not start an argument. Maybe we need to make it clearer in the rules section. Like legally harvested deer taken without the use of night vision scopes or lights. That was my point.

Yeah, that is a bruiser! Would look awesome on the wall!   @--0--0133 @--0--0101
At the age of 12 I began being my step dad's personal driving crew. I spent two years trouncing thru creek beds, woods, draws yelling, clapping and singing to jump deer.
The remaining 39 years I've been learning and loving the great outdoors that we all are blessed with.
