Eliminating pigs
« on: August 17, 2009, 02:22:40 PM »
Waiting to view my trail cam, but it appears I may have a pig problem this year where I do my primary hunting.  After putting corn down, came back 3 days later to find my feeders and area all torn up.  I know they were less than 4 miles away last season but hoping against this.  Any suggestions for making them go away and leave my deer corn to the deer?  Only responses I have had locally is to add them to the ground venison and enjoy the sausage.  Corn is just getting too expensive to have pigs go through it in one night.

We have the same problem here. My son has a permit to eliminate hog's on four ranches. He has eliminated 90 since Dec. These all go to processing, and folk's around the county just have to pay for the processing. Take as much as they want. A good deal for everyone.
Hunt hard, teach a kid to hunt, enjoy life.

sounds like you need to spend some time out there doing some target  @--0--0108 practice. I understand they can ruin a good hunting spot.

I'd take em home but you might try not putting out corn for a few weeks and let tha pigs find someone else's corn. @--0--0101 %^$^

on wildgameinnovations.com  last night and saw some new pig bait they have to sell.  might be cheaper than corn and might be able to bait them away from your deer area.  just an idea as don't have hogs yet in my area.

kill them as quick as you can.  At the rate they breed and reproduce if they ever take hold you will never get rid of them.  They will root up everything you plant.
It's a struggle!
