my kansas hunt
« on: August 03, 2009, 12:20:54 PM »
i had a request by one of our members to post about my kansas hunt. after 3 years of trying my friend george and i both drew for kansas rifle . we picked area 16 because the outfitter( buster's outfitters ) was in that unit. we picked the first week in dec. we arrived in kansas unpacked, sighted in our rifles.the next morning we were hunting. winds were strong all week, and they said there was alot of cheat grass around both of which decreased deer sightings.still, i saw alot of deer, shot my deer on day 4( big deer with the busted left side that i posted pics of) my friend passed on a big 9 point. he had shot a 170 class deer 3 yrs earlier and was holding out for a bigun, but never saw one. accomodations were rustic, food was good, great guides. hunt cost 4500. would i go again? probably, but i'd probably try another area of the state.

Passing on a 170 class, good night.  I don't think I could ever let one like that walk by.
