Title: Double Barrel Rifles
Post by: [Blocked] on March 27, 2009, 07:40:24 PM
I've seen some posts on here the last couple of weeks with people talking about rifles.  It got me to thinking about a story I wrote last fall on a double barrel rifle, that's right a double barrel rifle.  Here is the story and the other post with the photos.  Read the story first!

I really need to go back over there and shoot some video of them!  I would love to get my hands on the 30-06!  I can't remember if they have one or two triggers on them.  If it is two, I wouldn't want to drop the trigger on both barrels at the same time!  --7-8-9

Ok UNJ, Now tell the truth, did he make you put on the bib to catch teh drool before he let you touch them?  I no I have drooled over the double rifles in the Cabela's gun library here in Boise many times. It is getting to the point the clean up guy grabs the mop and bucket when he see's me walk in the door.

No, he didn't need a mop, but he did need a shovel to pick my jaw up off of the floor when he brought them out to me!  I was amazed that these were less than $1000 each!  I would consider saving my pennies to buy one of these beauties!

At under $ 1000.00 I may have to start saving my pennies for one too. I would like to have either caliber.

Nice looking guns, I would love the 45-70 or the 30-06. I only saw a double barrel rifle one years ago and it was in one of the old African Nitro calibers, My memory of that is a huge gun and rather heave.

Have seen several variations of 3 barrel drilling, rifle either over or under double shotgun barrels very nice guns but expensive and once saw a 4 way combo double barrel shotgun with a rifle barrel both centered above and below the shotgun barrels, as I remember there were 2 separate rifle calibers

I've only seen elephant guns like that on TV. I'll have to check them out the next time I go to Cabela's.

I believe those are the SPR22's from Remington,
which used to be in their catalog.

I read a post the other day that Remington was dropping some rifles from their catalog. I don't remember what all was being dropped. I will see if I can find it again.

I looked them up online and it looks like the same ones.  Not really sure what the status of these are.  You can find people offering them for sale, but they say coming soon.  Doesn't look like there are a lot of these around yet.

sad part is that E.A.A. (European American Amory) used to import these before Remington bought them out from under them. I used to could sell E.A.A. shotguns and rifles for half what Remington charges now.

They are some kind of nice though, Baikal makes a great over and under also.
