Title: detachable magazines
Post by: [Blocked] on March 19, 2018, 07:42:54 PM
I am in the market for a aftermarket detachable magazine to fit into a Remington  700 bdl stock. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the polymer type clips and clip assemblys.

Notsams - I have a old late 70's Rem 700 Varmint BDL in 308 and 7mm-08 both. Many years ago, replaced the hinged floor plate with a Badger Ordinance trigger housing that bolted into place. With those two hinged floor plates replaced both two extra magazines for it. I am glad I did, because all of them are interchangeable. All the 7mm-08 is, is a neck down to .284 casing from a 308 case....so I have a total of 4 magazines for both rifles.....

My suggested is to replace your hinged floor plate with a AICS and by as many as you think you will need extra magazines for the life of the firearms...the AICS stands for Accuracy International Chassis Systems....currently they make more than anyone else....for my Remington 700 DBM, I own about 3 other DBM for it, each holding 4 rounds. The AICS extra magazines can hold 10 rounds of 308....I won a couple of more 700's and all of them have different box magazine styles. None of them are interchangeable with the other.....So my advice is to do your research and then buy a system that you can buy extra magazine now for. Do not wait a year or two down the road, buy them now and do not wait.
