how sick am i???????? @--0--0117 @--0--0117 i'm having dreams about food plots --7-8-9 it's only march. we still have at least 2-3 months before i can do anything. maybe i just have JD withdraws @--0--0100  i think i have a problem (where is my tractor emogi???)


thoughts?

I'm plot impaired.  Maybe someday I will have somewhere to put one in.

I do get to hunt over a bean field though which is kinda sorta similar.

I have thought about putting in a food plot for years, but I am blessed with the location where I hunt.  It's basically a travel corridor between water, and bedding area.

I do get to hunt over a bean field though which is kinda sorta similar.

MI = Do your back yard in some WTI Clover, It will reduce the amount of time spent behind the mower, secondly, plant it and they will come. You are welcome.  @--0--0101

I can't say I have dreamed about food plots lately, but I have laid in the bed for hours thinking of the best way to put one in, where to hang a stand, what to plant, how to get all the equipment to the location, etc.   I actually plan on doing a little food plot prep work this coming week.  Got a few unwanted trees growing in the new plot that need to be removed before they start leafing out.

I had 11 deer in my plots behind the house Thursday evening, doesn't seem like there's anything worth eating in them but must be better than the woods for the moment at least.  3-6 is typical lately, has been many years since I have seen that many back there at one time but it makes all of the work seem worthwhile.  You're not that weird Yari!

good to know i'm in good company. i'm jealous w/ some guys getting to work already. that's a huge advantage to the deer and the farmer. my work time is so short that it really gets tough to get it all in. trying to cram it all in and get some family and fish time is a challenge

We drove 7 hours to disc and prepare a couple of food plots in Arkansas. We were given the go ahead by the landowner. Rented a trailer, took 4 days of vacation only to see our entrance beyond the gate is 9 feet deep in running water, complete with huge timber/logs. Quite a disappointment. Stayed in a hotel rather than camping and drove back home. 15 inches of rain two weeks prior. Water level high and opened up to drain off. More like June now before we’ll possibly have a chance to supply the deer with nutritious buffet of WTI goods!

Oh Fosshunter, that has got to hurt.  Hate to hear about the bad luck and all the time/vacation wasted for no reason.  The extra rain and flooding always equates to extra work.  Best of luck next trip.

i feel your pain foss. there have been many times i drove 3 1/2 hours to the cabin to find it's too wet. mother nature has her own plans somethings @--0--0117
