Title: In the woods
Post by: [Blocked] on October 21, 2017, 10:09:10 AM
Finally turkey hunting started in New York I'm in the woods checking my cameras and thought I'd sit for a while see if any turkeys came out. I'm in my deer stand(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171021/3bf657a7ecc7eabe83958af0291831e5.jpg)

I like the pic.  It would make a nice poster.  I'm waiting for all of my leaves to drop before I rake the front yard.  Two oak and two huge maples can produce a whole lot of leaves.  I have a fall turkey tag (Fall turkey here runs from Sep 15 to Nov 14, but I have not gone out yet.

Louie, NY use to run from Oct 1 thru mid November but do to the DEC thinking there are less turkeys gave us for the past 2 years a 2 week season....making it tough....I have trail cam pics of a flock of turks that I hunt of 15-20 nice coyote bait.

Bluetoe, saw a nice big dark buck about 100 yards from this spot sneaking thru...too bad its only turk hunting and they don't allow crossbows during the bow season @--0--0118

Dave

We don't always have a fall turkey season.   I normally don't hunt turkeys in the fall, but since I have had one flock travel by my place on several occasions, I figure I would buy a tag, and see if I could intercept one of them.  Sometimes, I can spot them while they're on the way, the big question is whether I have enough time to get out there.
