Title: cabin plots(update)
Post by: [Blocked] on June 21, 2017, 09:36:00 PM
so i have to go to a grad party friday night. em's 17th bday is saturday, but i talked her into dinner tonight, so i'm good there. AG store 'might' be open saturday at 7 AM. sis from WA doesn't come in until sunday. WHAT A CLUSTER --7-8-9

the plan is to pick up fertilizer at 7 AM. i need to call friday to confirm they are going to open. if not i need to rely on them putting 750# somewhere i can find it and hope it doesn't rain. i plan to plant one 1.5 acre plot. i'm hoping to get it done in 4-5 hours @--0--0131

once that is done, i need to cut everything. 2 acres of wheat, 1 acre of clover (if i didn't kill it w/ herbicide last trip) and 3 acres around the cabin and apple trees. unless there is lightning, i can do this in the rain, which is forecast sunday. hopefully the deer eat all the wheat by mid july when i plan to plant the rest. ##$%#116

i know, it's a pipe dream but this is my only chance in june. my muskie trip is 7/7-7/15 so i'm a bust until the 22nd. i wish it wasn't 3.5 hours away  @--0--0100

we had a big rain today and all day. i think it missed the cabin. it should be dry saturday anyway. that's a good start ##$%#115

i updated this last week and just noticed it didn't work?

i got 1.5 acres planted. it was drizzling the entire weekend. the forecast said nothing until saturday night. wrong again. the plot got .75-1" the weekend i planted

as got the mowing. WOW!!! some of the fields were 5-6' tall. i had the JD in 1st gear and high rpm's and still had to re-cut. it was very nerve racking trying to see fawns. thankfully there were no incidence.

i mowed 1.5 acres of wheat for the deer. they should clean that up in 4 weeks when i get up there to plant it.

the apple trees look full. i hope the storms don't ruin this crop like last year. even the trees i tubed 7 years ago had a lot of apples.

i did see 7 does w/o fawns. that isn't good. i can only hope they were still hiding them. it was an easy winter, but too many predators. i got 3 cams out so i'll know the next time i go up

good luck to all
