Title: Pond cleaned out of fish
Post by: [Blocked] on April 18, 2017, 11:48:24 AM
Early this spring I had a family of otter get in my pond and wipe it out of fish. There were fish skeletons everywhere. My son and I have fished it a couple of time this spring and never got a nibble.  I know it was otter because I seen there tracks.  @--0--0117 @--0--0117

Haven't had any experience with it myself but hear a lot of stories about how much they can eat in a short time . . . probably time for a stakeout if you're still seeing any fresh sign.

When an Otter finds food they will eat it all!! Probably a whole family moved in and fished it out. Can you trap otter in your area? If so You need some 220 Conibears and set the slides.

If they've already ate it out, might as well not even worry with trying to trap... Their gone!!  Had the exact same thing happen to a fish pond of ours. Cleaned it out in a few days time, and like gypsies in the night, they were gone never to be seen again. If you restock, I'd keep an eye out!

I can not nuisance trap. I plan on restocking but I might drain it down and do some structure projects. I will see what the summer brings.
