Title: 3-D Target
Post by: [Blocked] on October 01, 2014, 12:10:47 PM
I had a Delta Challenger target that I had shot out the area right aboe the replaceable vital area. I practice from an elevated stand and was trying to shoot a little high to make sure I got both lungs. I bought another target and was ready to trash this one. The whole area above the vitals was just a big hole. I saw on the net where you could use that spray insulating foam and rejunvenate a target. I went on YouTube and got directions. (which didn't totally work the way it was shown) but I decided to try it. Here is the finished product. You can see the outline where the shot out part was. I even sprayed the vital itself and tried to save that as well although I plan to buy another one. I repainted the deer- eyes, nose etc and here is the finished product. It doesn't look too bad. I even shot some arrows into the foam and actually stopped them! I am sure it is not like the self-healing foam material in the original replacment vital but it works! (you also have to mix some old vital material in with the foam, let it dry, cut off the excess, sand and paint)

I will let you know about that. What I really wanted to do was cover the big gap that was above the replaceable vital which I did. Now I just need to keep the arrows in the vitals and will have accomplished my goal with the target. I originally wasn't even going to do the vital but decided why not, just try it and see how it holds up.

Looks good, I hope it holds up well for you. If not, aim at a different spot, it's not going to run away from you it's a target.  --099-780 As long as you hit where you aim that's the goal with target practice. I think I learned that from Dutch  ##$%#1119
