Title: Smallest Fish on Record?
Post by: [Blocked] on October 13, 2011, 03:19:52 PM
Awhile back I posted a picture of a 16" brown I got in a large pool that was the biggest fish of the year for me. Well today I went back to that hole and got the smallest fish of the season! In fact, I cought this 'monster' at the exact spot I caught the other brown. This one really gave me a fight!!lol!!

A couple of pictures from that hole...

I wouldn't care if I caught anything at all if I had that scenery you have there awesome!
PS. What are you using for bait gnats?

Actually today I was using grifiths gnats but this one bit on a #20 Blue Winged Olive. Couldn't get anything to hit the gnats. In fact they were not sipping off the surface hardly at all today and I couldn't get them to hit a dry, nymphs or streamers.

That could be a record!  But like was mentioned, fishing in that setting is a bonus in itself!  Beautiful!

Hey, nothing wrong with a little guy like that.   That''s the future of the stream right there, BC, and a beautiful place it is!!!!

Yes, it does show the river is in good shape. The brook trout is native to Maryland the the browns there are all naturally reproducing and no stocking is done there so it shows the fish are healthy and doing what they should be doing!

Fry him up like a french fry. A lot of the locals in Cherokee NC prefer the very small native trout.
